Pool is the UK's most popular indoor solo participation sport and up until now - it has been very difficult to find any professional coaching. Of course, there are some professional players who can offer advice, but their lessons are based on their own experiences. Very few have any sort of course available, preferring to busk it and coach on an 'ad hoc' basis. Therefore, it is not surprising that this type of coaching varies in quality. |

At the 8 Ball Academy, we have put together the text book on British 8 Ball Pool. We have spent a lot of time gathering together everything that there is to know about the sport. We have analysed what techniques are needed in the game, and what makes the cue skills required in British 8 Ball different from American Pool or Snooker. |

We have taken all that knowledge and carefully constructed a syllabus that can be taught to players of all standards. All the things that every player should know but never get taught.
We have designed comprehensive lesson plans, so that our coaches know what to teach - the quality is kept high as nothing is left out. Every aspect of the game is covered in detail. |

At our Coaches Training Courses the World Eightball Pool Federation Head of Coaching passes on this knowledge & skills to other players. Delegates who attend the 8 Ball Academy Courses can qualify as WEPF, EPA & UPC official coaches, by completing the 2 day course and passing the exam. |
|
Once qualified, the 8 Ball Academy coaches have all the skills they need to teach the game of pool and get paid for doing so.
Delegates who attend the course don't need to be professional players, however a good basic knowledge of the game is an advantage. More important are communication skills and enthusiasm to learn new things. |
